I am obsessed with a certain pair of tie.dye denim, and after cleaning out my closet and deciding that white jeans aren't really my thing, I decided to attempt this DIY, and I have to say I am beyond thrilled with the result.

Here is what I did:
STEP ONE: start with a pair of denim, your dye color and a squeeze bottle. Mix the dye+water and shake well (this is important). The amount of dye that you use depends on the saturation level you desire. I used about a 1/4 of the package (in the teal color) and filled the enitre bottle with water.
STEP TWO: dampen the denim, and get creative. This is where you decide how you want the color to be distributed. I just wanted a random dye effect so I just crumpled the denim. (you can use rubberbands for a more traditional tye dye look)
STEP THREE: apply the dye. just squeeze all over, leaving some parts with out dye to acheive your desired look. (make sure you turn the pants over and do the backside)
STEP FOUR: let it set. the time differs depending on how saturated you want your color to be. I let mine sit for an hour.
STEP FIVE: wash. run your denim through a laundry cycle using a small amount of detergent. then DRY. you shouldn't have any dye left in your washing machine, but if for some reason it stains it, just run another empty cycle with bleach and it will clean it.
Simple right? I can't wait to play around with some more!
